We’ve all been there – it’s late, you’re tired, there’s a door, you knock on it. Next thing you know Mr T is making you his bitch and personal glove puppet… DEVENDRA , you never fail to surprise and delight us.
It’s not everyday you and your band end up flying through the anus of a butt-shaped planet in a large pill-shaped vessel, dancing in a cartoon with mythical creatures and throwing a party therein with fab from the strokes and a wu tang clanner (Think Bedknobs and Broomsticks pre island of Naboomboo on acid minus Angela Lansbury). All in a days work for DEVENDRA BANHART though. Enjoy.
so pleased he’s back on UK soil! DEVENDRA BANHART on the Jools Holland freedom festival last night. Sporting a magnificent tache and accompanied by his drummer and, er, accomplice from MEGAPUSS. Soothing stuff.

…as it says on the tin.
ANDREW BIRD and ST VINCENT collaborate for les soirees de poche (french innit – ‘evenings of the pocket’). Intimate setting, hand held HD camera – beautiful. Click here // DEVENDRA BANHART streaming his forthcoming single, ‘Baby’ and discusses his video past with the NME // THE CRIBS take over the guardian comments section and release the very limited edition Roses Edition // WHITE LIES make rare track, ‘taxidermy’, available to download here and perform ‘Death’ on Jimmy Kimmel // ST VINCENT discusses her ‘Vampirey Song’ duet with BON IVER (!!) for Twilight ‘New Moon’!! This is exciting. Officially. // And last but not least – we are very happy to see that LEONARD COHEN has recovered quickly and is back on tour. Very good news indeed.
Does what it says on the tin… New Devendra Banhart material. This is exciting.
Also check out Megapuss (best name ever?) if you haven’t already. Wondermog could have worked also.
