What do DAVID GRAY, THE BIG PINK, THE LOW ANTHEM and many staccato, high-pitched, introductions have in common? – Well, they were all features on Later last night, of course. It could well have been called Later with Chrysalis such were the number of our artists on the show.. Anyway! Go forth immediately and watch this week’s show in full. Which you can do HERE.

Good morning. We are still reeling from PATRICK WOLF‘s show at the London Palladium last night. He didn’t sing ‘I’d do anything’ but he did manage a duet with Florence Welch on ‘The Bachelor’, bring along a string sextet and give one of the performances of his career. Basically what we’re saying is.. fabulous. Here are the links:

Watch WHITE LIES do their best Tony Hart impersonation // Crowned King of Dubstep, Joy Orbison, remixes FOURTET‘s new single, ‘Love Cry’. Pitchfork say ‘Holy Moly’ (8). We say ‘true’. // ANDREW BIRD scores film, covers Kermit the Frog // Watch MONSTERS OF FOLK ‘Say Please’. DO it.  // BABYBIRD, the comeback gig and the Female Depp Army // And… ESTELLE and David Guetta’s new video for your enjoyment. //

Facial hair. Everyone’s talking about it. Everybody’s growing it. I’m growing a moustache for movember (donate here: ttp:// and it’s got us thinking about facial hair – ‘Beard you could lose a badger in’ facial hair and the artists that are members of the club. One of these is Ray Lamontagne – owner of a beard that could house most of the Waltons. As it happens we have a favourite Chrysalis beard-themed story involving Ray Lamontagne. It was on the night of the show that we went to sign him, the Water Rats crowd was in post gig ecstacy, women swooned, men envied, an un-named Chrysalis employee went up to meet Ray backstage and he found himself seduced by her beautiful eyes…

Un-named Chrysalis employee: Hi, Great show, I’m X..

Ray Lamontagne: Nice to meet you. I’m Ray. God, I love your eyes..

Un-named Chrysalis employee: (gushing) God. I love your….

(uncomfortable pause).

Anyway, in the spirit of all face hair enthusiasts out there here’s a beard-themed Chrys-a-lis-a-fri-day playlist for your aural delight: #15 BAND WITH BEARDS playlist.  Messrs Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Andrew Gold, Green Gartside and, of course, Lamontagne all included. Now get growing! And get donating!
