Patrick Wolf is back (this morning) (yes!) with his fourth studio album, the Bachelor. Arriving amongst a swathe of blinding reviews, the Bachelor sees Patrick venture deep into dark pop landscapes, riding on a richly textured and ever diversifying sound full of cut up electro beats, haunting middle eastern strings, companions of choirs and production credits from Matthew Herbert and Alec Empire. Of course we are going to tell you we think it’s brilliant. So, yes- it’s brilliant.
‘a whispered breath away from sheer perfection.’ 9/10 Clash Magazine
‘Richly textured electro pop teems with flamboyance and sees Wolf come over like a cosmic Martin Fry.’ Observer Music Monthly 4/5
‘The spikey haired one man Cabaret refuses to come quietly.’ NME
** UNCUT 4/5 ** TIME OUT 5/6 **
