Variety is the spice of life. And so on this grey Friday afternoon let us offer you a little variety (with your spice) in our news delivery.
Starting with Patrick Wolf. We were all down in heaven (isn’t that some sort of oxymoron) last night to see his first UK date to promote his Bandstocks funded album, ‘The Bachelor’, due for release in June. David enjoyed the face held microphone, Will enjoyed the various (there’s that spice again) hair incarnations – long blond, hair ripped out on stage to create, wait for it, ‘short’ blonde hair, then hijab, then glitter – and everyone else enjoyed the costume change into something resembling the love child of Anthony Sher’s 1984 Richard 3rd spiderman suit and the Chief Skeksi from ‘The Dark Crystal’. An amazing performance and we’re thrilled to be back watching him live again.
The main excitement today, not including the arrival of biscuits this afternoon, was the news that White Lies are to follow their shows at SXSW with an appearance on Letterman on March 24th! We’re excited. Watch it if you get a chance (ie. if youtube still shows videos / you wake up by accident in America in front of a TV / you happen to have the power of streaming direct from TV in one country to mind in foreign country). Anyway, gig’s really don’t come much bigger and we think it’s great.
Now go forth and enjoy the weekend. Don’t be sad if, like Will, you also spent two long hours failing to acquire Michael Jackson tickets that weren’t practically on the roof of the O2 arena, behind the stage, positioned exactly behind the entire London Knights basketball team. Sigh.
