Kyteman in Celebratory mode. (Friend on left with hands in ears less celebratory)
There’s a lot of brilliant stuff coming out of our Holland office at the moment. Our man in the field, Lucas Van Slegtenhorst, has been signing marvellous things with an unparalleled ferveur. One of the biggest success stories so far is KYTEMAN‘s HIP HOP ORCHESTRA who has, this week, been awarded the 2009 Pop Prijs – Holland’s most prestigious award for contemporary music.
Also most definitely worth checking out and unlikely (foolishly) to be shouted from then rooftops of Pitchfork / DiS / GorillavsBear / Next big blog mouthpiece are MOSS (Reverb rich, kraut rock, pop epicness), THE KILIMANJARO DARKJAZZ ENSEMBLE (even darker, storm brewing, mostly-instrumental wonderstuff), and WAY OUT WEST (Bristol based progressive house, breaks magic)
For those initiated on Spotify have a listen here. For those not, have a listen here:
WAY OUT WEST We Love Machine / MOSS Silent Hill / KYTEMAN No More Singin’ the blues / THE KILIMANJARO DARKJAZZ ENSEMBLE Lead Squid
And congratulations, Kyteman and Lucas.
